PRESCOTT SCHOOL BOARD

School Board Members

Our school board plays an important role in the success of our school district. School board members are individuals elected by their community to serve as representatives of the public. As champions for the community, school board members work to make sure the needs and desires of the public are brought to life through successfully carrying out their responsibilities.

Our meetings are open to the public and nearly all our discussions will be held in the open. The exception would be if it is necessary to discuss personnel, litigation, bargaining agreements, complaints against an officer or staff member, or real estate transactions where disclosure would be damaging. In those cases, we may occasionally go into a closed or “executive” session.

BOARD MEMBER & VICE CHAIR KEVIN CHABRE

Kevin Chabre-Chair

Kevin is currently Chair for the Prescott School District Board of Directors. This is a position he upholds with his continued desire to serve his community. Kevin is a fourth generation wheat farmer in Eureka. He attended Prescott School from K-5th grade before moving to Walla Walla. Kevin has served on the Prescott Lions Club and as a volunteer firefighter for Walla Walla Fire Districts 1 and 3 since 2006. He is currently a Fire Commissioner for District 3, a position he has held since 2013. Kevin and his wife, Laura, have two children attending Prescott School- the third generation of proud Prescott Tigers!

BOARD MEMBER JACOB STUECKLE

Jacob Stueckle-Vice Chair

Born and raised in the Valley, Jacob has been working on a wheat farm since graduating from Prescott School District, following in the footsteps of his late father (also a Prescott School alumni), and inheriting his family’s passion for the land. Jacob is a graduate of Blue Mountain Community College where he obtained an AAS with an Agricultural emphasis. Jacob and his wife Jacqueline have two young sons – the third generation of the family to attend Prescott School District. 

SCHOOL BOARD CHAIR PRESTON BROCK

Preston Brock

A multi-generational farming legacy, The Brock family has been tending the land in Clyde for six generations. An alumnus of Prescott School, Preston attended the district from 4th Grade until graduation. During his time here, Preston was involved in 4H, was a three-sport athlete (basketball, baseball, and football), and ASB President. He has degrees in Fire Science and Ag Diesel Technology from Walla Walla Community College and is currently a volunteer firefighter for District 1. Preston and his wife, Jessica, and their two young children, currently live on the family farm in Clyde.

While attending WWCC, Preston was President of the Diesel Club, and represented the club at Prescott School District ASB meetings. He remembers his time here at the school with great fondness, "The community, coaches, and staff all had a huge part in making me who I am today."

BOARD MEMBER Susan DeRuew

Sue DeRuwe

Susan DeRuwe is an active leader in the Prescott Community. She taught in the Prescott School District for 40 years and has lived in Prescott for 42 years. She also is a parent who had two children graduate from Prescott High School!

She has served on the Prescott City Council, as a Prescott Park and Recreation District Commissioner, Chairman of the Prescott Memorial Scholarship fund and on various Prescott Education Association scholarship projects. Susan also volunteers at Prescott Schools and enjoys the interaction with our current students.
